Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Honorary Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She has been widely recognized for pioneering the study of eyewitness testimony and child witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer, has won several prizes and grants. She has advised numerous administrations and agencies across all over the world on policy as well as research related to the treatment of children victims in the justice system. She also serves as a consulting for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) and is a part of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of many professional organizations including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child Policies and Practice.
